ADDRESS AT THE LAUNCHING OF IT & ITES “TRAIL BLAZERS – PATHFINDERS-2011” AT DARBAR HALL, RAJ BHAVAN, CHENNAI ON 28.09.2011 AT 7.00 P.M.
At the outset, I congratulate The Times Group for its initiatives to honour the veterans of a specific field every year. The efforts taken by The Times Group to bring their success stories as a Coffee Table Book “Trail Blazers” deserve commendation.
It is a pleasure to release the Trail Blazers – 2011 “The Pathfinders” on IT & IT Enabled Service Industry and to honour the architects and the leaders in Information Technology. It is their sincerity and hard work, the innovative mind, relentless spirit and creativity that has made them what they are today. Mere release of success stories will not suffice. These success stories should reach the youth and encourage them. Success stories can also be produced as documentaries and screened in colleges and schools. I am sure these would be a source of inspiration to them and would instill in the youth a flair for creativity, dynamism and hard work which will enable them to scale new heights in life.
Growth depends upon activity. A nation’s growth is adjudged by its all round development. We need creative people – the world changers, on all fronts to place our nation on a high pedestal on all spheres. Our nation needs more and more entrepreneurs with rich acumen, dynamism and passion for innovation with concern for nature who can bring development on sustainable basis. I browsed through the ‘Pathfinders’. The success stories of each one reveal their far-sighted entrepreneurship qualities, hard work and their spirit to achieve their ambitions. I congratulate all of them on their success.
We are a nation of over one billion people. It is not logical to expect the Government or the industries to provide employment opportunities to all. The nation needs job creators and let us not encourage job seekers.
The success of IT industry deserves special appreciation. Today India, especially Tamil Nadu has become IT destination for starting new ventures. The contribution of this sector in the export of the state is remarkable. IT, automobile and pharmaceutical industries have become the main focus. We are now the global leaders in IT Industry. This has enhanced the Indian Human potential, across the globe. We have the brain power and man power. Integration and stimulation and a driving force with dedication is needed among the youth. I congratulate the Times Group for taking the lead.
Buddha said, “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world”.
The youth of today should aim high to make their real world, thoughts should be transformed to reality by vision, sincerity and hard work. Success should be their mantra. Motivation should be from all spheres to make India a developed nation. I convey my warm felicitations to Shri Ninan Thariyan, Associate Vice President and Response Head, The Times Group and the IT Giants – Recipients of Entrepreneurship Awards.
I conclude with the words of Henry A Overstreet, “The very essence of all power to influence lies in getting the other person to participate”.
I wish The Times Group all success in its mission to inspire the new generations of entrepreneurs so as to lead our nation to greater heights at the global level.
My greetings to all of you.
Jai Hind.
