PRESS RELEASE GOVERNOR’S BAISAKHI MESSAGE On the happy occasion of Baisakhi I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people. Baisakhi has a unique significance. It reminds us of the formation of Khalsa in 1699 by Shri Guru Gobind Singhji to end the tyranny of foreign rulers and make the people strong and confident. Let this holy occasion rekindle the spirit of sacrifice, unity and brotherhood and promote patriotism and harmony. Baisakhi is also a seasonal festival when golden wheat crop is ready for harvesting.
