CHRISTMAS GET-TOGETHER AND NEW YEAR WELCOME FUNCTION AT RAJ BHAVAN

Christmas Get-Together and New Year welcome function was organized at Raj Bhavan, Chennai today (23.12.2009). His Excellency Thiru Surjit Singh Barnala, Governor of Tamil Nadu, Former Governor of Orissa Thiru M.M. Rajendran, Smt. Susheela Rajendran and other dignitaries and officials were present.

His Excellency Shri Surjit Singh Barnala, Governor of Tamil Nadu presented a Cash Award of Rs.1,500/- each to the Meritorious Children of the staff of Raj Bhavan for securing highest marks and Rs. 1000/- for securing 2^nd highest mark in 10^th Std and +2 Exams.

Master S. Tharakesh and S. Vishnu Vardhan students of Lady Andal School played Piano western classical music. There were carols by Family Singers. The Dance Performance of Dr. Sonal Mansingh was organized by the South Zone Cultural Centre. The Governor presented shawl & books to the artists.

The Hans Raj Verma, I.A.S., Secretary to Governor welcomed the gathering. Dr. C.K. Gariyali, Former Secretary to Governor, Thiru S. Sivashanmugaraja, Deputy Secretary to Governor & Comptroller and Thiru K. Vivekanandan, Deputy Secretary to Governor were present.
