HUMAN RIGHTS DAY-GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE

India is a land of diverse cultures with people of different languages and different faiths and is a symbol of democracy. Our Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, right to liberty, equality and dignity to all the citizens irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

Upholding and protecting human rights and respecting human values paves the way for establishing a harmonious society. The Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission’s initiatives to spread human rights literacy and to promote awareness on human rights are laudable.

I congratulate the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission for earning the trust and faith of the people by its sincere and dedicated efforts in disposing the complaints on human rights violation.

On the Human Rights Day let us pledge to promote human values and dignity and respect all our brethren.

I wish the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission all success in its mission in safeguarding human rights.
