As a new addition to this, as in the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi, a Nakshathra Garden is being developed in Raj Bhavan, Chennai.  His Excellency Shri Surjit Singh Barnala, Governor of Tamil Nadu, inaugurated the Nakshathra Garden by planting an  Indian Medler Tree sapling (Magizham) at Raj Bhavan, Chennai today (19.04.2008).  Each of the 27 Nakshatras is associated with specific tree and plant linked to Zodiac Signs. This Nakshathra Garden is a latest addition to Raj Bhavan greenery.  Madam Governor Tmt. Surjit Kaur, His Excellency’s family members, Secretary to Governor Thiru. Sandeep Saxena, I.A.S., and other officials also planted saplings.
